The Following are the terms and conditions of the sale:
The buyer understands that the Basenji described above is not considered by the breeder to be show or breeding quality. The Basenji will be registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) on a Limited Registration Certificate, which will prevent the dog from being shown in the conformation ring at an AKC licensed dog show. The Limited Registration will also prevent any offspring of this Basenji from being registered with the AKC. A Limited Registration will not make the dog ineligible to compete in AKC obedience and agility trials, nor will it make the dog ineligible for competition at AKC or ASFA Lure Coursing events.
The buyer has a 2-week “trial” period with the puppy. The buyer may return the puppy to the breeder at any time during the 2-week period and will receive a refund of the purchase price minus the $100 deposit, provided that the puppy is in the same condition as it was when the Buyer received it from the breeder. If the breeder resells the puppy within one month of it being returned, the deposit will be refunded.
If the puppy was shipped, the Buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping the puppy back to the breeder.
If at any time in the life of the Basenji mentioned above, the temperament is deemed unsound by the Buyer and Breeder resulting in the Buyer having to return the dog to the breeder or put to sleep the dog, a replacement puppy or adult will be offered.
The Buyer agrees that the Basenji mentioned above will not, under any circumstances, be placed in ANY humane society, ANY commercial store for sale or given or sold to a third party at any time without written permission of the breeder/seller.
The Breeder guarantees the health of the puppy mentioned above and encourages the buyer to take the puppy to their vet within the first week. If there is any illness or defect noted by the vet at that time, excluding umbilical hernias, which can be normal for the breed, the buyer has the right to return the puppy within the 2-week period for a full refund.
There is little known about the cause or heredity of both PRA (progressive Retinal Atrophy) and Fanconi Syndrome (kidney disease). Though the breeder does extensive health testing on the breeding stock each year, both of these problems, if they occur, usually occur within the first 5 years of age. There are no tests that can indicate if a dog will become afflicted with these problems only tests to tell if a dog is afflicted with the disease. Because of this, the Buyer understands that the breeder cannot guarantee that the Basenji mentioned above will not become afflicted with PRA or Fanconi. If the above mentioned Basenji become afflicted with Fanconi or PRA, the breeder will offer to replace the Basenji with a puppy or other adult Basenji if the Buyer wishes.
The breeder will take back, for whatever reason, at any age, the above mentioned basenji, without a refund if past the 2-week “trial” period.

The Basenji described above is considered by the breeder to be show or breeding quality. The Basenji will be registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) on a full Registration Certificate. The above mentioned Basenji will be co-owned by the breeder until the dog receives its AKC Championship. The breeder/seller will not receive any additional monies for this above mentioned dog, to sign off as owner to the buyer, once the AKC Championship is received.
The buyer is responsible for showing or hiring somebody to show the above mentioned Basenji to its AKC Championship. The buyer will pay all expenses, including vet expenses. The breeder/seller is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the above-mentioned dog, after it is sold to the buyer on the above-mentioned date.
The Buyer will not breed the above-mentioned dog until it has received its AKC Championship. The buyer will consult with the breeder on healthy, quality breeding choices for the above-mentioned dog.
